Here Chickie, Chickie

According to Vivek Murthy, in the post-pandemic world, we have a loneliness epidemic. People are disconnected and isolated on a scale that is unimaginable to our ancestors. The relationship architecture of remote and hybrid jobs is a shambles. I’m compensating outside of work by spending more time in social activities including pickleball. Indeed, I’ve joined the national craze with my partner Dan and we are getting that serotonin and endorphins and dopamine going while we chase those boinking balls all over the court in the sunshine and rain. We’ve also gotten some chickens to have and to hold, little fuzzballs. They won’t ever be like dogs and cats, but I bet that even holding a baby chick will give you little extra bursts of oxytocin to help you get out of bed in the morning.
