Let There Be Peace

While radiologists descend on Phoenix to discuss climate change, Putin’s maverick war on Ukraine erases proud buildings of Kiev, painting the streets with blood and tears. Threats of nuclear war quicken — come closer than your mother approaching to graze kiss your stubbled cheek, closer than the dew on morning grass. I tremble to touch the earth, to find her dead.

[It is time to] question economic models, invent new industries and recognize the moral responsibility that wealthy nations have to the rest of the world, placing a value on nature [and peace] that “goes far beyond money.”
